Along with them, Sisters <strong>Joana Agbotse<\/strong> and <strong>Colette Banka<\/strong> flew from Ghana to Monrovia.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Although the state of emergency in Liberia was lifted on November 13th, there are plenty of shortages\u00a0and fight against Ebola virus has not finished. <strong>Many of the needs are still uncovered<\/strong>: health staff, drugs and facilities to care for Ebola patients as well as patients who suffer other conditions and can\u00b4t be treated. After the outbreak and the colapse of the national health service,\u00a0the estimation\u00a0is that only 10% of the previous capacity is functioning. The emergency is double: keeping on controlling the outbreak and rebuilding the health system. <strong>The reopening of the St. Benedict Menni Health Center<\/strong> has been included into the actions addressed by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aita-menni.org\/archivos\/201412\/ministry-of-health-12.12.2014.pdf?1\" target=\"_blank\">Ministry of Health and Social Wellfare<\/a>\u00a0(MOH&amp;SW) for the reconstruction of the National Health System.\u00a0[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1449054159480{margin-top: 32px !important;}&#8221;]Facing this situation, <a title=\"Sisters Hoapitallers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sistershospitallers.com\" target=\"_blank\">Sisters Hospitallers<\/a>, along with the health services of the Diocese of Monrovia and the help of\u00a0<a title=\"Catholic Relief Services\" href=\"http:\/\/www.crs.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Catholic Relief Services<\/a>\u00a0(CRS), decided to reopen the Saint Benedict Menni Health Center, closed last August. Additionally, a new incinerator will be installed, and CRS will send technicians to assess and guarantee the potability of the two water wells at the center. Training of the staff will start on December 15th and will continue until the reopening. The center will reopen with \u00a0the OutPatient Department and vaccination. In a second stage the Maternity will be opened.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;32px&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1429006466552{margin-top: 32px !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"titulo2\">Background\u00a0of the\u00a0Saint Benedict Menni Health Center<\/h3>\n<p>The Saint Benedict Menni Health Center, located in Monrovia, Liberia, was focused in primary healthcare services, with a specific Maternity area. It remains closed since last August, due to the impossibility to guarantee the safety of the patients and the staff.
