In the final moments on the Cross, the words of Christ were not of anger or despair, but of forgiveness, reassurance and peace:
\u201cFather, forgive them\u2026\u201d
\u201cToday you will be with me in paradise.\u201d
\u201cIt is finished.\u201d<\/p>\n
Even in suffering, there was compassion. Even in darkness, there was purpose.<\/p>\n
For many of the people we support through We Are Like You<\/strong>, these words carry a powerful meaning. Living with mental illness can often feel isolating, overwhelming and, at times, misunderstood. But this message reminds us of something essential: At our centre in Monrovia, we see every day what it means to walk alongside someone on their journey to recovery. Healing is not always linear, and it does not happen overnight. It takes time, patience and, above all, dignity. It takes being seen, heard and valued.<\/p>\n Just as Christ showed mercy in the midst of suffering, we are called to respond with kindness, understanding and respect. Every person deserves to be treated with compassion, regardless of where they are in their journey.<\/p>\n Easter is not only about the Cross. It is about what comes after.
