06 Sep ECOWAS-Liberia Marks 50 Years with a Generous Donation to St. Benedict Menni Mental Rehabilitation Center

As part of activities commemorating its 50th anniversary in Liberia, ECOWAS–Liberia demonstrated its commitment to human dignity and regional solidarity through the donation of occupational therapy items and hygiene products to the St. Benedict Menni Mental Rehabilitation Center.

This thoughtful gesture comes at a time when mental health services in Liberia continue to prioritise recovery-oriented, person-centred care for individuals living with mental health and substance use conditions.

Strengthening Recovery-Oriented Care

Occupational therapy is a core part of rehabilitation at St. Benedict Menni. The donated therapy items will support structured therapeutic activities that enhance daily living skills, emotional regulation, creativity, social interaction, and vocational readiness among our clients.

The hygiene products will also play a critical role in promoting personal care, infection prevention, and overall wellbeing within the Centre. Access to these essentials contributes significantly to restoring dignity, self-confidence and a sense of normality for people receiving care.
