20 Dec A Recognition That Belongs to Everyone We Walk Alongside
Sometimes an award speaks not only of achievement, but of a shared journey. The St. Benedict Menni Mental Rehabilitation Center has been honoured by the Ministry of Health of Liberia with the Outstanding Service Award, recognising years of dedicated work in mental health care and rehabilitation.
The award was presented during a Mental Health Appreciation and Recognition event organised by the Ministry of Health, celebrating institutions and professionals who contribute daily to improving access to mental health services, promoting recovery, and upholding the dignity of people living with mental health conditions.
More Than an Award
This recognition is not only about outcomes—it is about how care is delivered. Over the years, St. Benedict Menni has become a place of support and stability for individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance use, often in contexts marked by vulnerability and limited resources.
From inpatient and outpatient care to psychosocial rehabilitation, community outreach and reintegration, the Centre has remained guided by one clear principle: to place the person at the centre, listen to their story, and walk alongside them with respect, professionalism and compassion.
A Collective Achievement
This award belongs to the entire team—mental health professionals, nurses, social workers, support staff and volunteers—whose daily dedication sustains care rooted in dignity and respect.
It also reflects the strength of collaboration with the Ministry of Health, families, community leaders and partners who share a belief that mental health is essential to individual and collective wellbeing.
Continuing the Journey
Receiving this recognition strengthens our commitment to advocate for mental health, challenge stigma and expand access to quality, recovery-oriented care, especially for those who are most often left behind.
We dedicate this award to the people we serve and their families. Their courage, resilience and trust are the true inspiration behind our work.
We continue forward with a simple but powerful conviction:
restoring dignity, nurturing hope and walking alongside lives in transformation.
